Local Technique is one small fight against hollow commentary, meaningless work, and the ubiquitous sales pitch. Geography is its theme.
The phrase local technique has two meanings: in English, it's the way something is done at a particular point in time and space; in French, it's a closet or other small area where technical equipment is kept. There's a local technique by the third-floor coffee machines at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. It's a tiny room of servers and switchboards, about the size of the author's workspace in Brooklyn, NY.
